Kaizer Chiefs Extend George Matlou’s Contract

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, George Matlou, is set to remain at Naturena until the next season.

Two months ago, it was reported that Matlou’s contract with Amakhosi had expired on 30 June and that he was looking to sign with another club.

Earlier this week, MSC Sports Talent – an agency which represents Matlou – confirmed in a Twitter/X post that the 27-year-old player was awarded a contract extension.

“George Matlou commits to the journey. The midfielder extends his stay with the Amakhosi,” the post reads.

If reports are anything to go by, his new deal will see him stay with the Soweto giants until 2026.

Following an injury spell that kept him sidelined for the majority of the 2024/25 season, Matlou has only made one appearance for Chiefs this season so far.

Now with this extension, it’s clear that Amakhosi’s higher-ups still believe in the young midfielder’s potential. Here’s hoping he can make a significant impact for the team!
